A simpler layer for university.
We're a small team building the place students go first - before the LMS, the calendar and the six other tabs.
Why we're building this
University software has quietly fragmented. Your schedule lives in one system, your assignments in another, announcements somewhere else, and your actual calendar in a fourth. None of them were designed to work together - and the job of piecing your day together falls on you.
We think that's backwards. The information a student needs every day is small and knowable: what's on, what's due, what's next. It shouldn't take a dozen logins to see it.
So we're building a simpler layer - one place that gathers what matters from the tools you already use and hands you your day, clearly. Not a replacement for your university's systems. A calmer front door to them.
Why Stead
A stead is the place you work from - your base, the ground you stand on. The mark is a roof: one broad line, and a smaller one sheltered beneath it. That's the whole idea. Somewhere steady to start the day from, with the rest of university gathered under it.
Calm over noise
Information when you want it - never a feed built to keep you scrolling.
Honest by default
We don't ship features that don't exist or claim what isn't true yet.
Built around students
Courses, deadlines and schedules that change - the real shape of university.
